Common Issues

Installation

Permission denied

• Run the installer as administrator
• Temporarily allow the app in antivirus
• Check UAC settings

Won’t start after install

• Windows 7+ / macOS 10.15+
• Install Visual C++ 2015–2022 (Windows)
• Reinstall from official releases

Antivirus false positive

• Add Virtual Browser to the AV exclusion list
• Download only from GitHub / virtualbrowser.cc

Profiles

Cannot create a profile

• Free disk space (≥1 GB recommended)
• Run as administrator
• Update to the latest client

Launch fails

• Delete and recreate the profile
• Close other heavy apps
• Verify proxy settings

Fingerprint seems wrong

• Save settings and relaunch the profile
• Align language/timezone with proxy region
• Test on BrowserLeaks

Network

Proxy fails

• Check host, port, type (HTTP vs SOCKS5), credentials
• Test with curl or the built-in proxy test
• Try another node

IP API still prompts to configure

• Valid apiLink format and active key — see Set IP geo
• Restart the client

Slow browsing

• Faster proxy; fewer extensions
• Fewer concurrent profiles

Extensions

• Supported formats: CRX, ZIP — see Install extensions
• Install as administrator if blocked

Performance

• Close unused profiles
• Restart client after long sessions

Data loss

• Export profiles regularly
• Pro: optional cloud sync
• Do not force-kill during upgrades
